My Great-Great Grandfather was an officer in the Union Army attached to the 4th
Illinois Inf. His name was Willis Luther Pomeroy. Thank you for this excellent
presentation of the Battle of Ox Hill.

What a great web site. Very, very nice job. Informative, comprehensive and interesting.
I live near the battlefield and have devoured anything I could find on it. Which has
mainly meant a few pages near the end of "Return to Bull Run" or the article a
couple months ago in "North & South." I know this sounds weird but from time
to time on battlefields I get very odd feelings. No I haven't seen any ghosts but the
feeling is there sometimes. In my first few years in this area I drove up and down Rte 50
a lot and never knew of the Battle of Ox Hill. I always got my odd feeling when I passed
the West Ox road exit. Wish there was more we could do to preserve the battlefield. Some
of my wife's relatives fought there (49th GA) All the men who died there certainly deserve
something better that Tower Records.
