This site was very informative and interesting. As a thirteen year old "Civil War buff," I am appaled at the fact that Fairfax County bulldozed the battlefield of Ox Hill. What will they do next?

I live near the Chantilly battlefield. the more I study this interesting action the more it fascinates me. It is very likely one of my wife's relatives fought there. Thanks for preserving what you could.

Your site is an excellent service of information, and recognition to those fallen men.My personal comment: I am rather appalled that our federal government, and local government let this Historic site slide away for the sake of money.Money comes and it goes-------History stands forever, but the sites and places will not.Unless we fight to save them!

This is a very nice tribute and preservation of our history. I am a decendant of General John Pope.

Many of my Simpson ancestors were from Fairfax County, VA and although my immediate family members had moved to Indiana by the time of the Civil War, still others stayed. What a time of conflict for brother to fight against brother, and what a sad ending for all those brave young men who left mothers, wives, and children.

Great site. How sad your history and heritage is being destroyed in the quest for the dollar

Thank you for the informative site. As a resident of Fairfax County I am ashamed of the lack of foresight and interest that my county government showed in regards to the Ox Hill battlefield. The small portion of the battlefield that remains is an insult to the brave Americans who fought in the battle. I can only hope that the loss of Ox Hill will inspire caring people to stand up to their elected officials and demand that sites of important historical value be saved!
