1996 Satellite View

1996 Satellite View of the Ox Hill Battlefield

This is an overlay of General Stevens' attack before General Kearny's reinforcements arrived. It was scaled using the survey of the Reid Farm (attached to the original deed),  a 1993 aerial view, a 1983 USGS topographical map and  the archeological data from the salvage survey. The only undeveloped section that remains, is where the 21st Mass. lost over 100 men on the east side (right side) of the battlefield. This last section is scheduled to be developed in 2001.

Note: Each unit represents a regiment with the Confederate regiments grouped by brigade. You can readily see the overwhelming odds that General Stevens faced during his courageous attack against Stonewall Jackson's entire Corps.
